The Neighbourhood Plan for Walkeringham is now complete and has been approved by an external assessor as well as Bassetlaw District Council. The final stage is a public referendum which was originally scheduled for July 2020. COVID-19 has however moved this date and the earliest the referendum can now take place is May 2021. The plan does however have considerable weight even without the referendum and is being quoted by planners in Bassetlaw and Bristol as powerful evidence to resist unwelcome development within the village. It is now more important than ever that the village supports and endorses the plan at the referendum stage. The exact date of the referendum will be circulated as soon as it is known.
